1. Who is responsible

SoulSaga is operated by Itera Studio LLC, 30 N Gould St, Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA (the “Controller”). For privacy requests: [email protected]. We designed SoulSaga around the sovereignty of your narrative data: we do not sell your personal data and we do not use your writings to train public AI models.

2. Data we collect

We only collect what is needed to run your narrative space:

  • Account identity from Google sign-in (email and name when provided).
  • Content you create: reflections, onboarding answers, chapters, and related story memory needed to continue your narrative.
  • Subscription and billing metadata via Stripe (card numbers are handled by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers).
  • Technical security and service logs (for example connection metadata needed to protect the service).
  • Waitlist email if you reserve access before launch.
  • Cookie and analytics data only if you accept analytics cookies: Google Analytics and first-party measures (country, traffic source, and pre-login steps). See Cookies below.

3. Why we process data (purposes and legal bases)

Depending on the context, we rely on:

  • Performance of a contract — creating your account, generating and storing your story, providing subscriptions and support.
  • Legitimate interests — securing the service, preventing abuse, and improving reliability without overriding your rights.
  • Consent — optional analytics cookies (Google Analytics) when you accept them via our cookie banner.
  • Legal obligations — accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements where they apply.

4. How we process your writing and who helps us

To generate chapters and insights, SoulSaga sends the text you write to carefully selected service providers. Categories of recipients:

  • AI generation via OpenRouter (and model providers it routes to), solely to produce your narrative.
  • Optional memory-search processing within your account when that feature is enabled.
  • Cloud hosting infrastructure for the application and your data.
  • Authentication with Google when you sign in with Google.
  • Payments via Stripe when you subscribe.
  • Transactional email via Resend (for example service messages or digests), when configured.
  • Google Analytics and first-party acquisition measures (country, source, pre-login funnel), only after you accept analytics cookies.

5. International transfers

Itera Studio LLC is established in the United States. Your data may be processed in the United States or other countries where our providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as contractual protections) for transfers outside the European Economic Area.

6. Retention

We keep your account and story data while your account remains active. If you request deletion, we aim to permanently delete your account data within 72 hours, except where we must retain limited records for legal, tax, dispute, or payment obligations (including records held by Stripe). Waitlist emails are kept until launch access is offered or you ask to be removed.

7. Security

We protect data in transit and at rest with industry-standard encryption and restrict access to people and systems that need it to operate SoulSaga. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; we continuously improve our practices.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location (including under the GDPR where it applies), you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability of your personal data. You can export your book from the product where available, and request account deletion by emailing [email protected]. You may withdraw analytics cookie consent at any time by clearing site data or contacting us. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (for example the CNIL in France).

9. Children

SoulSaga is intended for users aged 16 or older (or the higher minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below that age.

10. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies and similar technologies to run the service (for example session authentication, language preference, and the first-party soulsaga_ref cookie for 90 days to attribute a partner visit). Partner attribution is required to operate the program; visitor emails are never shared with partners. Optional analytics (Google Analytics and first-party measures of country, traffic source, and pre-login steps) help us understand visits. They are loaded only after you accept analytics in the cookie banner. You can refuse analytics and still use SoulSaga.
